Q: What are the advantages of me installing the RemVu Aquila as opposed to other types of transmission equipment available in the marketplace? |
A: The RemVu Aquila is the most advanced transmission system available in the market today. Some of the advantages of the RemVu Aquila include:
· Remote dial in facility, allowing access to live pictures from any location.
· Full system integrity – this includes facilities such as Monitoring the state of the ISDN line, System tamper facility, Continuous monitoring of camera and detector states.
· System setting procedures – to be discussed and agreed with the customer before the site is live.
· RemVu response areas – this allows different sections of your site to be colour coded dependant upon the level of security risk. By grading areas and using a series of colour codes, the ARC operator is assisted in making a quick, accurate and uniform response to an event.
· A selection of monitoring tariffs for the customer to choose from.
The RemVu Aquila comes equipped with software to enable you to connect it to a customer’s computer network, so they can view live and recorded images from any computer on site. The Aquila continuously records images from all cameras, (even whilst viewing recorded images), and recording time typically lasts for 4 days in duration, (8 days with larger hard disk upgrade).
The RemVu Aquila transmission system is available to customers on a free for use basis*, therefore eliminating a large part of the total installation cost of the remotely monitored CCTV system. The fact that the RemVu Aquila transmission unit is supplied on a free for use basis will provide you with a saving of around £4,000 (MSRP) per installation. We hope that this will enable you to significantly increase your business in the remote monitoring field.
Subject to the customer agreeing to a 3 year monitoring contract.

Q: How can working with RemGuard help me to install BS8418 compliant systems? |
A: As a recognised and respected CCTV installer, you may currently be connecting CCTV systems through to remote monitoring service providers. However, these monitoring providers may not be supplying a service that is compliant with BS 8418. Our own Remote Video Response Centre (RVRC) has been accredited to BS 5979 since 1991 and has progressed through BS 5750 and BS EN ISO 9002:1994 during the last 10 years. More recently the RVRC was certified to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 by the NSI. The RemVu Aquila transmission system is also fully compliant with BS 8418. It has 16 camera inputs, 24 alarm inputs, integral ISDN T/A 40 Gb disk for image recording and remote access via LAN / WAN or remote dial up. (See data sheet section for more information and downloadable PDF’s).

Q: How does the relationship work between RemGuard, the installer and the end user? |
A: RemGuard have a monitoring contract with the customer and the installer has an installation and maintenance contract with the customer. It’s that simple! This means that RemGuard will not be involved with any on-site work, and you as the installer will not be burdened with the responsibility of chasing for payment for remote monitoring.
|
Q: Who is responsible for the maintenance of the equipment should there be any faults with any parts of the equipment? |
A: The RemVu Aquila transmission unit remains under warranty whilst the customer remains contracted to RemGuard for monitoring services**. So, if the transmission unit suffers from a fault, (eg. hard disk drive fail), RemGuard will supply a new disk free of charge, which would be fitted on site by you, the installer.
**Subject to the equipment being treated in an acceptable manner, as per the terms and conditions of the remote monitoring contract.

Q: What are the advantages of me becoming a RemGuard approved installer, and what do I need to do to become one? |
A: To become a RemGuard approved installer you are required to attend a full day training session to ensure you are fully competent with the RemVu Aquila and the installation guidelines. There is also an approved installer agreement document which must be completed. As an approved installer, ongoing
commission will be paid by RemGuard to you at the rate 10% of all surveillance charges received by RemGuard from each Subscriber introduced by
you, (the Installer). You will also receive ongoing marketing support to help you in connecting more sites to RemGuard for remote monitoring.
|
Q: What type of technical support would I receive from RemGuard if I ordered a RemVu Aquila? |
A: Technical support is provided by our highly competent engineers. In addition to your initial training, where you will receive full product knowledge and installation training, you will receive ongoing dedicated support in all areas of site management including:
· Site commissioning
· Fault identification and correction
· On site walk-test support
· System improvement suggestions
|
Q: What do I need from the customer to be able to order a RemVu Aquila unit on a free for use basis? |
A: We require a 3 year remote monitoring contract signed by the customer. We also require a general assessment form from you for each customer’s site detailing the specific layout of the cameras and detectors, and how the system will operate, in order that our engineers can suitably programme the RemVu Aquila unit prior to us dispatching it to you.
